A Monday Trip to the Big Easy

Half of our team hit the road on Monday for a big presentation for Reel Rewards, a loyalty program we created for our movie theatre client, Southern Theatres. We headed to New Orleans, where the company's corporate headquarters is located, to give a progress report at the annual managers' meeting held at the luxurious Theatres at Canal Place.

With four different brands (The Grand Theatre, Amstar Cinemas, The Theatres at Canal Place, and Movie Tavern) and about forty locations across the US, Southern is one of the top ten largest theatre chains in the country and we're lucky to have represented them for the past seven years. The updated Reel Rewards program launched in mid-December 2013 and has been doing very well, having sold over 40,000 memberships!

From the naming of the program to the architecture of the website and sales, as well as working with Southern Theatres managers on training and managing marketing strategies in print, online, and through social media, this project has been one of our most challenging to date—and also one of the most rewarding. We had a great time talking to the managers and officers of Southern Theatres about the program, answering their questions, and planning improvements to Reel Rewards. We also had a delicious team dinner and kicked back to relax a little at Morton's Steakhouse!

The goal for Reel Rewards is to create a theatre loyalty program that entices patrons to go to the movies more often by offering them reward incentives every time they visit. With things like a free small popcorn and drink upon signing up, free size upgrades on popcorn and sodas at the concession stand, birthday and refer-a-friend bonuses, and ten percent back on every dollar you spend added to your Reel Rewards account to save or spend anytime, we believe the program is truly a "no-brainer" for movie lovers and will continue to grow in popularity and membership rapidly throughout the next year.
